It's not just for athletes. It is great for those with injuries, chronic pain, or restricted range of motion. Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to help you stay at peak performance in every day life, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.


Simple tasks like sitting at a desk, working on a computer, working on picture puzzles or watahing TV for a prologed time and lack of movement can cause tighy muscles and tension.


Sports Massage is a combination of deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, heat and soft tissue release techniques. This is a great massage to relieve that stubborn knot or muscle spasm, reduce pain and drastically improve flexibility. Done on a regular basis, this massage can greatly your pain, while also preventing injuries .


If you take part in regular exercise or a sport then it is possible that imbalances in the muscle can develop and often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause you discomfort or even impede performance.


Soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and you will need drink more water to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the massage session. A warm/hot Epsom salt bath after your massage can also help with the soreness. Hydration is of the upmost importance before and after the session.


What to wear

Movement is extremely important in an effective treatment. Please come prepared to work actively during the treatment by bringing or wearing suitable clothing (loose shorts for men), swimsuit (two piece with open back for women), loose or stretchy shorts and sports bra, tank top, for women), as you may need to change positions multiple times during a treatment. Draping may be an option.
